I started my career with Petrokon Brunei in 2002 as a Piping Designer. I was being assigned to multiple projects both onshore and offshore throughout my career. I got my first promotion as Senior Designer in 2005 and also being selected as one of the mentors to give encouragement and motivation to young Bruneians.

I am self-motivated that I took and completed my Engineering studies during the period of year 2006-2008. Upon graduation, i was given the opportunity to learn and work on Engineering activities so to improve my engineering capabilities and at the same time still working as Designer.

With hardwork and dedication, I was promoted as Engineer in 2008 and BSP approved TA Level-3 in 2013 and over the years I had learn gradually and managed to progress to be Engineering Manager and Director of PUSB Chennai. Petrokon as a whole is a great company and I am glad to be a part of it. My advice to fellow colleagues, one should create an opportunity, do not simply give up, overcome your struggles in order to become successful.

I started my career with Petrokon in 1999 as a Cad Operator in Mechanical department, focusing on drafting and matlink. I had  the opportunity to work in both Onshore and Offshore projects and gained a lot of knowledge, work experiences and exposures. Now as a Senior Mechanical designer, i am more focusing on design work, as-built project and also conduct SAP training for the juniors. Alhamdulilah, Petrokon nurtures local employees by becoming a learning hub with extensive pool of trainers, equipped with unlimited knowledge.  PUSB is a great place to work, working with people from different cultures, very supportive with respect and understand each other. I am grateful to have PUSB as the platform for me to achieve who I am today. Always be positive and accept self-criticism to be better.

I have had the great pleasure of working at Petrokon Utama Sdn Bhd since 2011. I joined Petrokon and started off as a fresh graduate and over the years, I have had various chances to build up my career here and have gone through 6 different roles. In Petrokon, there is always a new possibility for work responsibility/role change to cover on the aspect of technical gap as part of the development. As part of the employee development, the company also offers employee’s mentorship program where young graduate can interact directly with their Mentor which compromise of highly experience and knowledge professions with different technical background. The Mentorship program as offered is highly beneficial as it forms a connection between both the employee’s and their mentors allowing the employee’s to share their values and personal goals in a mutually respectful, supportive ways which leads to a more enriched life for both. This also allows the barriers to be broken down and helps to create opportunities for success especially for the young graduate. Personally, I have benefited from the mentorship program as part of my personal development. I am also very grateful to my Mentors and to all of my colleagues in Petrokon who had contributed in my journey. I am able to grow professionally and this wouldn't be possible without everyone support. I am looking forward to many more years with Petrokon contributing to the growth of the organization and to continue the success in providing services to our clients.

Good day to all avid readers of this fantastic newsletter. I started my association with Petrokon way back in 1999 when I was offered to work in Petrojaya as a Planning / Campaign Engineer. I had the privileges to occasionally interact with PETROKON’s management and staff and these had left a good professional impression. Opportunity arises again in 2013 for me to be directly a part of PETROKON to lead the ORMC engineering contract.

The company is surrounded by very talented, committed and enthusiastic people and I am constantly inspired by how much opportunity there is by coming in together as a TEAM and that is what drives me each day to learn, guide, encourage, motivate and develop individual to team. I would like to thank the management for their continuous support and encouragement in our journey to be at the forefront of engineering.
