Assalamualaikum, I’m Ayu and I have been working with Petrokon for two years now as a Trainee Mechanical Designer. Working in this company has been helping me to improve myself in terms of communication, working, as well as facing my fears. I, myself would have never thought that I’d be enjoying myself working in Mechanical department since I have a Civil Engineering background. To me, they were all just messy lines before this but with the help of my colleagues, now I know, they are just more than that, and that they play bigger roles than just some random messy lines. I’ve learned more other than just preparing drawings, I have learned to design some pipe routings, reading isometrics, visualizing with the Navis work model provided and more and of course, all those with the help of my supervisors. And whenever I go for offshore site visits, I would be facing my two fears; fear of height and fear of being in the middle of the ocean. I believe I am able to “spread my wings” from the encouragement of my colleagues. That is why, I am more than happy to have been given this opportunity where I’m sure I would not be able to get in any other places. Looking forward to more opportunities in the future
