Petrokon Utama Sdn Bhd (Petrokon) has reached 10 million man-hours of work without any lost time injury (LTI).

Present as the guest of honour during the ceremony to mark the milestone was Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) Asset Director Michel Maistre.

Managing Director of Petrokon Dato Paduka Haji Noordin bin Mohd Yussof, senior BSP and Brunei LNG officials, seniorline managers and head of departments of Petrokon were also present.

Dato Paduka Haji Noordin said the significant milestone represent a shared vision and cumulative commitment by Petrokon employees in prioritising safety.

It also demonstrated the employees’ pledge to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) whether it is in the office or at onshore and offshore worksites. Michel Maistre shared the same sentiment in his speech and commended the commitment made by the company in striving to make safety the priority.

“I look forward to being here for the next million more LTI free,” he added.
The ceremony saw the presentation of a commemorative plaque presented by Michel Maistre on behalf of BSP to Dato Paduka Haji Noordin.
